Ozolins: a striker who keeps getting matched with unbeaten prospects
Ozolins turns 32 on 21 October and has built his career on the road. Latvia, England, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Finland and Poland all appear on his record. He came up through kickboxing and has a pro kickboxing knockout in Poland from 2015.
His recent run shows how he gets matched. In May 2023 he knocked out Daniel Schwindt in round one in the Soko FC 4 main event, then flattened Karim Mammar in 48 seconds in May 2024. In September 2024 he walked into a spinning backfist from the unbeaten Emile Vujakovic at FCC 39 in Liverpool and was stopped 32 seconds in.
He rebuilt in Poland. In September 2025 he beat another unbeaten fighter, Brajan Przysiwek, by unanimous decision in the co-main event of Hybrid MMA 9 in Kołobrzeg. Two months later he dropped a majority decision to 5-0 Szymon Herrmann at Babilon MMA 55 in Radom. That was in November 2025, so he’ll have been out for almost a year by the time he walks out in Hungary.
Horváth: long, slick on the mat, and back on a winning run
At 198 cm Horváth is huge for a fighter listed at middleweight, and he fights like it. Ten of his 13 wins are submissions, collected on a long regional run through Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, England and one night in California.
He comes in on two straight first-round wins for CombatX. He choked out Ljubo Jalovi in 60 seconds in March 2026, then stopped Michal Varga with punches at 2:41 in Budapest in June. Before that he’d lost two in a row: a unanimous decision to Tayo Odunjo at PML 11 in October 2024 and a second-round guillotine against Alexis Fontes at Hexagone MMA 26 in April 2025.
The number that stands out is seven. That’s how many of his ten losses came by knockout or TKO, including two first-round stoppages at Oktagon in 2023, against Ahmed Sami and Kerim Engizek.
How the styles match up
This one is easy to read and hard to call.
Ozolins wants it standing, at mid-range, where he can close the distance behind his punches and make the taller man pay for every lazy exchange. Nine centimetres of height is a real problem in a kickboxing fight, but Horváth’s record says his chin is the weak point, and Ozolins hits hard enough to find it. Six of his eight wins came inside the distance.
Horváth wants the opposite. A scramble, a clinch on the fence, a sloppy takedown: anything that ends up on the mat plays into his game, and those long limbs are built for triangles and chokes. Ozolins has been submitted twice, so he isn’t immune.
Watch the first exchanges. If Ozolins lands clean early, Horváth has tended to fold. If Horváth gets through the opening minutes and gets hold of him, the fight tilts quickly.
Our pick: Ozolins by KO/TKO
We’re taking Ozolins by stoppage in the first two rounds. He’s the heavier hitter, his kickboxing base suits the range he needs, and seven KO/TKO losses on Horváth’s record are hard to ignore. The worries are the year out and fighting a Hungarian on a Hungarian card. If Ozolins gets careless with his feet and ends up tied up on the fence, Horváth can finish it in a moment. The cleaner path still belongs to the Latvian.
