Editorial policy

This page explains how Sports Strike reports fights, checks facts and handles mistakes.

Independence

We decide what to cover and how to cover it. No promotion, fighter, betting partner or advertiser gets to approve, change or block what we publish.

Checking the facts

  • Results come from the promotion’s official results or announcements. Every result we publish is stored with its source.
  • Records are cross-checked against BoxRec, Tapology and Sherdog. A record is only marked as verified after that check. If the sources disagree, we hold it back until we can confirm it.
  • Dates and start times come from the promotion’s official event page.
  • Previews are not published until an editor has signed off the fact-check.

Sources

We name our sources and link to official announcements where we can. When a story builds on another outlet’s reporting, we credit that outlet.

Photos

Fighter and event photos come mainly from the promotions’ own media and are used for editorial coverage. We keep a record of where every photo comes from.

We crop and clean up images, but we don’t use AI-generated photos of real people, alter faces with AI or mirror images. If you own a photo on the site and want it credited or removed, contact us.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and data checks. Nothing goes live until an editor has checked it and approved it.

Odds and betting partners

Some pages show odds and offers from our betting partners, with links to their sites. If you sign up through one of those links, we may earn a commission. Our partners have no say in what we cover or what we write.

Odds are shown as decimal prices with the time they were checked, and we hide them once they’re more than 24 hours old. Fan picks on the site are free votes, not bets.

Betting is for adults only (18+). Gambling can be addictive. For help, visit BeGambleAware.org. In Latvia you can block yourself from all licensed gambling through the self-exclusion register (Pašatteikušos personu reģistrs), run by the State Revenue Service (VID).

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. See the corrections page for how to report a mistake.
