The OKTAGON welterweight title is vacant, and Amiran Gogoladze and Felix Klinkhammer fight for it at the SAP Garden in Munich on Saturday, 31 October. Gogoladze is the No. 1 contender, a Georgian striker who finishes people fast. Klinkhammer is 11-0, a German submission specialist from London Shootfighters, and he’s fighting in front of a home crowd. OKTAGON calls it “a title fight between elite speed finishers”, and it’s hard to argue.

Amiran Gogoladze: the Sniper

Gogoladze’s nickname is earned. According to OKTAGON, he has eight finishes inside 100 seconds, including a 10-second knockout that’s still the fastest in M-1 history. He’s also been on Dana White’s Contender Series, and OKTAGON seeded him into its Gamechanger tournament.

His last outing was the most impressive. At OKTAGON 86 in Szczecin in April he knocked out Ion Surdu in 2:34 of the first round, which put him at the front of the queue for the vacant belt. What’s interesting is that his earlier OKTAGON wins over Liam Etebar, Łukasz Siwiec and Leandro Silva were decisions. So he can go 15 minutes when someone survives the start.

Felix Klinkhammer: unbeaten and dangerous on the mat

Klinkhammer has been training at London Shootfighters for ten years and has never lost. All nine of his finishes came in the first round, according to OKTAGON, and OKTAGON bills him as a submission specialist. OKTAGON also bills him as the Ares FC champion.

His last fight was at OKTAGON 80 in November 2025, where he submitted Máté Kertész with 14 seconds left in the first round. Kertész is a respected veteran, and Klinkhammer still didn’t need more than one round.

Styles: how Gogoladze vs Klinkhammer plays out

It’s the classic striker against grappler fight, and the first few minutes could decide it. Gogoladze wants it standing and early. He’s at his most dangerous before his opponent has settled, and his record is full of fights that ended before they really started.

Klinkhammer needs to get close without eating something big on the way in. If he can force a clinch, take Gogoladze to the mat and start working, the fight shifts in his favour. Gogoladze’s three OKTAGON decisions show he can survive bad spots. But none of those opponents had a submission record like Klinkhammer’s.

It’s also a five-round title fight. That gives Klinkhammer more time to find a takedown and Gogoladze more time to find the shot that ends it.

Key factors

  • The first exchange. Gogoladze finishes fast. If Klinkhammer gets hurt early, it could be over quickly.
  • Takedowns. Klinkhammer has to get the fight down, and Gogoladze has to stop him.
  • Home crowd. Klinkhammer fights in Germany, with the SAP Garden on his side.
  • Championship rounds. All of their OKTAGON fights so far were scheduled for three rounds. This one is five.

Our pick: Klinkhammer by submission

This is close, and Gogoladze’s power means he’s never out of it. We lean towards Klinkhammer finding a takedown and the back over five rounds. Gogoladze has shown he can be taken into deep water, and Klinkhammer is the kind of fighter who turns one mistake into a finish. Pick: Klinkhammer by submission, rounds 2-4. A Gogoladze knockout in the first five minutes is the obvious upset route.

Also on the card: Aksu vs Samsonidse

OKTAGON’s No. 3 lightweight Gökhan Aksu meets Niko Samsonidse in another big fight. All 14 of Aksu’s wins have come before the final bell, says OKTAGON, while Samsonidse is a well-rounded fighter who has already fought Keita for a title. Former lightweight champion Ronald Paradeiser is also on the OKTAGON 96 card, against Tyrone Pfeifer. Pick: Aksu by KO/TKO.
