Cookies

This page lists the cookies and browser storage Sports Strike uses, what they do and how to remove them.

What we use

We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. Everything below either keeps the site secure, keeps editors signed in or remembers a small choice you made.

When you vote in fan picks, our server stores a one-way hash of your IP address and browser so the same vote isn’t counted twice. We don’t store the IP address itself. The like button uses a similar hash of your IP address for one minute to stop spam.

Third parties

  • Betting partner links. When you click a link to one of our betting partners, you leave our site. Our betting partners and their affiliate platforms set their own cookies on their domains to record that you came from Sports Strike. Their privacy and cookie policies apply.
  • Videos. Video embeds load only when you press play. YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). TikTok and Instagram may set their own cookies once a video loads.
  • Share buttons. These are plain links. Nothing from X, Facebook, Telegram or WhatsApp loads until you click one.
  • Newsletter. Sign-ups are handled by AWeber, our newsletter provider. The form doesn’t set any cookies on this site.

Our fonts are served from our own server.

Managing and deleting cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To remove everything Sports Strike has stored, including fan picks and your “Where to watch” country, clear the site data for sports-strike.com. In most browsers this is under Settings, then Privacy or Site settings.

If you block cookies, the site still works. A like you give may just count again on your next visit.

Your rights

Sports Strike is the data controller for this site. Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Use the contact form and start your message with “Privacy”.

You can also complain to the Latvian data protection authority, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).

We’ll update this page if the cookies we use change.
